T-shirt Defenitions
Different defenitions for many T-shirts' uses.

A lightweight shirt without buttons, with short sleeves and no collar. Often made of cotton and frequently bears a picture or slogan.
Many bands make more money from T-shirt sales than from sale of tickets.

Concert T-shirt

A T-shirt, often sold as a souvenier, sold at musical concerts. Often contains a photograph of the performing artist or band, artwork from an album cover or concerts, the name of a tour the performer(s) may be on, and tour dates.

Wet T-shirt Contest

A contest in which women wear t-shirts that are wet to make them slightly translucent, and others judge the women on appearance.

Ringer T-shirt

A Ringer T-shirt is a T-shirt in which the shirt itself is one color, but the collar and the end of the sleeves are of a different color, usually a completely contrasting color.

Ringer t-shirtTraditionally, the most common ringer colors were white with black rings. The Ringer was introduced in the United States in the mid-1960s and gained popularity in the late 1960s, especially among youth and the rock-and-roll subculture.

The Ringer grew in popularity even more as the 1970s began and remained popular throughout that decade. But in the 1980s, other fashions eclipsed the ringer T-shirt.

In the early 2000s, Ringer T-shirts experienced a resurgance of popularity, mostly among teens, and remained popular at least through the mid-2000s, albeit at a reduced level from their 1970s heyday.

Black concert T-shirt

The black concert T-shirt is a fashion trend of rock concert attendees from the 1970s through today. Bands and musical groups often promote themselves by creating and selling or giving away t-shirts at their shows, tours, and events. A popular color for the shirts is black and they normally contain silk screened graphics. Fans purchase or obtain these shirts to wear to future concerts, often with jeans, dark colored pants or skirts. Fans may wear the shirt of one band to a concert of another to show their taste in a particular type of music or loyality to another band or type of music.

One popular graphic on the rear of the T-shirts is a listing of tour dates for the band's current tour.

Hypercolor T-Shirts

T-Shirts from the 80’s & 90’s, which in theory were supposed to change color when you touched them or with the weather but in reality you had to pull the shirt up to your mouth and breathe on it really hard to inspire any kind of color change. When you wore it in school all your friends with spend the whole day either touching you or blowing hot air on your t-shirt so it changes color. This was something really cool in the early 90’s (the t-shirt not the touching) and this was supposed to be the future.

The cool thing is you can still find Hypercolor t-shirts for sale on ebay!
